Return to Training - WFTDA Incubator Session

When:  May 1, 2021 from 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM (ET)

Details

We want to hear what you've been working on to get ready and back on track!

About this Event

After releasing the updates in our Return to Play Guidelines and the new beginner curriculum “This is Roller Derby” we want to come together as a community to start the conversation around getting back on track.

We want to hear from you around

  • initiatives you've created and/or are working on (skating outside, online fitness etc.);
  • new anti-racism and equity policies you’ve implemented or are looking to implement as a league, training committee, team etc.;
  • new practice plans or ideas you have developed based on the new curriculum and its resources;
  • challenges you are facing or questions you have around getting back on track safely;
  • any assistance you are seeking.

You can bring your ideas in the form of pictures, posters, one presentation slide or onepagers, or submit your questions beforehand through the registration form.

We will joined by Panel Members from different groups and areas to bring their perspectives and experiences to the table and to help answer all the questions you might have.

Let’s plan to get safely back on track by sharing ideas and resources!

DISCLAIMER

This event is not about asking which tier you are in or if you are following WFTDA Return to Play Guidelines, but to start a conversation around getting back on track after (almost) over a year away from it.

Registration Information

Please note that there is a limit of 100 attendees, so we ask you to only sign up if you know you can make it. Don’t worry if you can’t - we'll be recording this event and will be sharing it in the WeFTDA collective and WFTDA communities after. We are also planning to host several of these events in the near future.

More Information on Presenting Your Ideas

During the registration process you will be asked if you would like to present (for example in form of a poster/one presentation slide/one pdf page). Registering beforehand will help us organize the event better, but if you want to share your ideas spontaneously, we will try and accommodate you as well. Please note that BIPOC/Trans/Gender diverse speakers will be prioritized before white speakers.

Long Term Plan

Our long term plan is to create a workshop or webinar series around this topic with guest speakers and with open call for proposals. Interested in organizing or speaking? Get in touch via catherine@wftda.com

We are also working on a model where we can pay you for hosting an event. For this, we are looking for event or session sponsors. Interested? Get in touch via https://wftda.com/partnership/.
