May I request clarity for this cycle on the interpretation of, “Rules Theory Panel has a limit of 2 Officials on the Panel” / "This round only 1 of the open seats can be filled by an Official."? The dichotomy of “skater vs official” is not as clear as it once was, so the interpretation of this rule changes from time to time, and we now have two officials nominated.
Lucas and Micro (incumbents) are both certified officials, and Ziggy Scardust who left Theory in 2025 was known to officiate as well, so for a while there were three officials, all of whom also skated. So, I believe the limit is that only one person for whom officiating is their only role can serve on Rules Theory at once, in which case officials who skate (or coach, or …what else?) would not count towards this limit. Is that true for this election as well?
Second question: Last year, in Spring 2025, there were two open seats and only one was filled. What happened to the other seat?
