Tournament officials selection panel (tosp) athlete representatives

WFTDA Tournament Officials Selection Panel (TOSP) is seeking Athlete Representatives to sit as voting members of the panel. The TOSP Panel is an officiating peer panel to the Officials Certification Committee and Officials Education Committee.

ROLE / GOAL:

The Role of the TOSP Skater Representatives for the 2024 Cycle is to operate within the oversight panel in the selection of Officials for the WFTDA postseason tournament cycle.

  • Assist with policy for tournament staffing to consider skill, experience, equitability, training, visibility, proven performance, quality of character, and opportunity for officials.
  • Vote on Tournament Head Officials to the various Regional Championship and Global Championship tournaments.
  • Ensure policy is followed by the Tournament Heads, including hearing appeals if necessary.
  • Assist in the iteration of and setting policy for future cycles.
  • Ensure that the views of the Skater are heard and well represented.

SKILLS

Requirements:

  • High level of experience with Google Docs, Sheets, and Forms.
  • Have been a rostered skater in WFTDA games, or someone who has filled another comparative role from a skater perspective such as a coach, bench staff, etc.
  • Possess the ability to consider divergent perspectives beyond one’s own.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will:

  • Exhibit good written communication skills.
  • Check and respond to emails more than twice a week.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the TOSP committee.
  • Possess a good understanding of WFTDA Officiating.
  • Seek to balance equitability with regulation.
