The Marketing Committee & Marketing Chair plays a pivotal role in shaping WFTDA’s external communications and promotional strategies. These positions involve working collaboratively with committees, membership, and external partners to elevate the visibility of roller derby and WFTDA’s mission.
The chair will oversee marketing initiatives, content creation, social media campaigns, and member engagement efforts.
Being a leadership role, the time commitment will vary based on campaign cycles, membership events, and organizational priorities. The Marketing Committee will report directly to the Marketing Pillar Officer and work closely with the WFTDA Board in charge of oversight.
Mandatory Skills Needed:
- Strong understanding of marketing strategies, branding, and digital platforms
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage collaborative projects
- Experience with social media management, content creation, and analytics
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Additional Qualifications:
- Familiarity with WFTDA’s mission, programs, and membership structure
- Experience working in nonprofit or sports marketing environments
- Graphic design or video editing skills
General Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement WFTDA’s marketing strategy in alignment with organizational goals
- Coordinate with committees, leagues, and external partners to promote events, programs, and initiatives
- Oversee the creation and distribution of marketing materials across all platforms
Specific Responsibilities:
- Manage WFTDA’s social media channels, ensuring consistent, engaging content
- Lead promotional efforts for key events, including tournaments, rule updates, and membership initiatives
- Collect and analyze metrics to evaluate the success of marketing efforts and inform future strategies
- Foster collaboration within the marketing committee, providing guidance and feedback to volunteers and contributors
